Recent reading for politicians thinking about our economic future

Three articles in one day (29 Jan) in the FT provide some useful reading and opinion about the current financial and economic crisis:

Samuel Brittan puts concerns about deflation in context; also here.

George Magnus injects some sobriety into debates about the outlook for sterling and argues for a bad bank to be established.

Lasse Pedersen and Nouriel Roubini argue that in future banks should be regulated - and should buy insurance based on - a measure of their systemic risk (ie impact on the whole financial system) rather than individual risk.
