Credibility of Tory economic plans questioned

The Observer reports that the National Institute of Economic and Social Research believes George Osborne and his team misread a paper it published on the economy, with the result that cuts planned by Osborne will take five years more than he assumed to save the money he claimed result.

Meanwhile, David Blanchflower in the Guardian on Saturday was rather upset with Osborne's plans, believing they would threaten economic recovery and lead to higher unemployment.
